Rare Highly Carved Korfhage Tallcase in Oak, with Calendar Subsidiary Dial, c.1890-1900 Here is a spectacular example of the work of Charles Korfhage, whose workshop was located at 12 Dutch Street in New York City. We don't know a lot about Charles Korfhage, but we do know that he held multiple patents on clock movements. He sold the movement in this tallcase clock in his wholesale catalogue for $52. We were delighted to find this clock in Tran Duy Ly's Longcase Clocks and Standing Regulators book (1994). Here's what Korfhage says in his catalogue:"The Superiority of my Improved Movements (his punctuation, not ours), which have stood the test of time, consists not merely in having Dead-beat Escapement, Maintaining Power, Full-toned Gongs and Fancy Dials, but in simplicity of construction which has been achieved by an experience of many years of practical work and by means of best machinery adopted to this work."My Movements are above comparison with any o

Lenzkirch Cherub Mantle Clock, c.1890 Here's a beautiful and extremely clean Lenzkirch mantle clock that is coming out of the collection of a major player. We're proud to present it for your consideration... Physical: The burled and gilded case measures 7.5"w x 15"h x 4.5"d. The finish on the wood is original; it has been polished and is in excellent physical condition; same with the gilding. The 3.5" diameter dial is in excellent condition and has "cartouche"-style numerals. Mechanical: The 8-day time and bell-strike movement has serial number 715895 which you can see on the dating chart puts its date of manufacture at 1890. It has been professionally serviced and is in excellent running order. One very nice thing about this particular clock that is not on all the small Lenzkirch mantle clocks is that you can see the pendulum; most are blocked off so you only see the case.

Jam antik memang sangat kuat karena benar2 terbuat dari besi pilihan, namun perlu diingat bahwa sekuat2nya bahan yang dipakai lama kelamaan akan aus juga jika kita mengabaikan perawatannya.... Untuk itu perlu diketahui cara2 perawatannya : Minimal satu tahun sekali di cuci (dibersihkan dari debu2 yang pasti masuk lewat celah2). Setiap 6 bulan sekali dilumasi dengan minyak pelumas khusus jam, pada poros2 as roda, terutama bagian anker. Memutar per/menarik bandul dengan hati2. Baru kita dengarkan lagu dari gamelan yang klasik itu...... selamat mencoba... jika masih kurang jelas saya siap membantu....
